Laptop Takes a Long Time to Wake Up from Sleep/Hibernation

Are you experiencing any of the following?
  1. Your keyboard lights turn on, fans start, but screen stays blank for a long time
  2. Only happens when you are running on battery power (unplugged)
  3. Wakes up quickly if it's been asleep for 5 minutes, but takes for ever otherwise
  4. When it wakes up, the screen is flickering, Wi-Fi is disconnected or laptop is very slow

Troubleshoot
  1. Disconnect all USB drives, external monitors and mouse.
  2. Open File Explorer 
  3. Click on This PC
  4. Look at your Windows (C:) local drive to ensure you have enough space. If the bar is red, you need to delete some files or empty your recycle bin to speed things up.
