USB Device Not Recognized

Try this
1. Hard Reset
  1. Turn off computer
  2. Unplug the power cable if computer was charging
  3. Unplug the USB chip connecting to the laptop
  4. Wait a couple mins
  5. Plug the power cables and USB chip back in
  6. Press and hold the power button for both computer for about 30 sec
  7. Monitor & Observe
2. Uninstall from Device Manager
  1. Go to Device manager
  2. Under 'universal serial bus controllers'
  3. You will likely find a yellow triangle next to a USB device listed in the drop down. It will appear like this "Unknown USB device (device descriptor request failed)"
  4. Uninstall that specific one
  5. After its uninstalled, go to 'Action' at the top menu, and select 'scan for hardware changes'.
  6. Windows will attempt to reinstall the correct drivers freshly in case they were corrupt in the first place.
Check if the Unknown USB device is hidden:
Go to 'View' at the top menu and select 'Show hidden devices'
In this case, Uninstall the Unknown USB device, and reboot your laptop. 
After reboot, open Device Manager again and verify if it appears in the list.
